Hello crafty friends,
"The beauty of life is in small details and not in big events!!"
The class from Marika Rahtu!!! this is like a fan girl moment, even if she is not crafting anymore, even if she is not teaching this class live, even if...............
How do I explain this in words really! Many of you might be her fan already and can understand my feelings and emotions, but I really adooooooore her work. I wish she was still creating and I would have got 10000000000 examples to learn from her artwork. Every single coloring image of hers is like a learning in itself and even less amount of her videos available, still so much to learn! Even from her creation's images available online, ohhhh my gooood! I cannot express how much excited and nervous I was when I started this class. Any plan made in my head was feeling anxiety as its like learning from one of the very best!
The way shew teaches is also appaludable, being so down to earth and showing every single detail she can to help us understand how she go about the coloring be it any medium! Just wow.
Even if you are not in Altenew Academy, please take this class and you will definitely learn a lot! A lot! This will also encourage you to pick up those mediums, use those stamps and see them differently and practice.
I have done 2 colorings, I hope I did justice to what I have learned from her in the classes.
My creation details:
Creation 1-
I feel it's easy for me if I have fix color palette, more so if its monochromatic. This thought used to scare me before that monochromatic is tough, but trust me, it's the easiest and you learn a lot with limited color palette.
Hence, I went for tone and tone and harnessed the power of color palette to showcase and depict the lines and flow. Blue or the cool tones were my favorite at the time of creation (Seems like) and hence, I went for cool color tunes, browns for the leaves and made it exciting.
Wanted to convert it to a birthday card, so that receiver (whoever gets it one day) will be as happy as I was while making it.
Words cannot explain much here, hope you can enjoy the coloring and the art here-
Stamp : Pristine peonies
Pencil Colors: Faber castell pencils (Delft Blue, Indanthrone blue, Helio-blue reddish, Cobalt blue greenish, Cobalt blue, phthalo blue, light ultramarine, light phthalo blue, sky blue + Walnut brown, van dyck brown, caput mortuum, burnt sienna, raw umber, brown ochre, teracotta)
Others: obsidian black pigment ink, white sequins, white gel pen

Creation 2 -
Here, I got this idea by accident and also not by accident! Hahaha....not trying to mislead but thats the honest truth! I wanted to go for monochromatic look here as well, but thought that would be just same as above! But still wanted to try something unique which I have never made before!
And thus that Aha moment stuck and decided to go for tone on tone look or like kind of glass look (As i say it) where I stamp the image in the color as close as the cardstock color and then do white pencil coloring with white gel pen highlights.
To give the depth, I did the same color pencil shadow work to pop the image and make it bit 3-d effect.
I hope this clarifies my take and idea here and this is the outcome:
Stamp : Dearest friend stamp set
Pencil Colors: White and shades of cool grey for the shadow
Others: Black obsidian ink, white gel pen
