Hello crafty friends,
"Everything is nothing without a TWIST!"
Been so long to have written a detailed post like this! Would be difficult with words in the beginning, but, let's give it a try and move on.
A new fun class at Altenew Academy to work with and learned a lot from the WITH A TWIST class.
It was super fun and also from one of my fav teacher, learned some new techniques, applied somehting different in the creations and had lots of fun. The class is so full with techniques but also, as the name suggests, we can also think of mutliple techniques here as it is kind of an open ended technique and you can put a twist on cards with multiple ways.
As always, there are 2 inspirations I have created for this class learnings. Below you can find all the details around both of them.
My creation details:
Card 1-
Use of washi tapes, vibrant reds-oranges, using die cuts as frame and making it a center of the creation was my goal. Also, since I love coloring, I tried my hands on coloring vellum with Faber castell polychromos and it came out super nice.
The twist here is, the die cut and florals can move on the belly band (made using the washi tapes). You can see it in action on my instagram as I cannot put a video here.
Other details around the card:
Stamp : Altenew Precious Peony, cordinated dies
Die: Nesting Labels Die
Pencil Colors: Red orange shaeds from Faber castell polychromos (Middle Cadmium Red, Deep red, Scarlet Red, dark cadmium orange, cadmium orange, dark chrome yellow)
Others: Altenew washi tape (white with gold stripes), Gold heat embossing, White heat embossing powder
Here are some more images of the First card:
Card 2 -
Here, I decided to make the twist "by using washi tape elements". I have not used any stamp set here, but the washi tape elements are fussy cut to give the look you see of the leaves. Also, took the leaves die cut, partial heat embossed it and then added on top to give a finite effect.
Background is using the dotted pinwheel background stamp set with white heat embossing, put on the raised die cut piece. After that, I added glitter thread all around for the arrangement (this help it make look like a bouquet). Adhered all elements on top of this and then a black heat embossed sentiment to finish the card.
Washi Tape : Botanical Rhapsody
Stamp: Dotted pinwheel background stamp
Die: Just leaves, Mix and match frame die set
Others: gold, black and white heat embossing powders, golden thread
With this, I end the post and hope you enjoyed seeing my creations. I learned and played differently with this class and it was all so fun. Always feels happy and fresh to get new ideas with these classes and increase my creative span.
Wish you a very happy and joyous time and see you in my next post.
Regards
Disha
