Hello there,
"If you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life"
Do you believe this statement as above? I do and I live it a lot in my everyday life. If I am ever put into a situation, where I have to just work for the sake of it and carry on, I never ever am able to achieve that 100% joy and outcome of the efforts raised.
When I am crafting, I am the most happiest but this is not my day job still (for some obvious reasons on my end), but nevertheless, I am never unhappy there too. I do it with utmost sincerity and love and enjoy. Crafting is same for me, a therapy, a fun, a part of me always getting lost there and feels like having fun in an altogether different world. Thus, I never feel wokred up when I start creating.
Same like the very first post for the Altenew Academy, in this post too, I have created 2 projects using the techniques and lessons from the class and putting my own spin to the lessons I learnt. To break the monotony,as both the classes are about layering stamps, I have tried to use totally different style, color combinations to design and create the cards here.
More details are below 👇
The techniques/Learnings from this class are as follows (almost same as All about layering 3 class): Layering stamps can work wonders and can be used in many diff ways (not only using all the layers everytime). Mix and match them with diff ink families, skip some layers, use embossing or other medium like vellum, paper to enhance the look. Use them as full background with random images all around a big sentiment or use a very CAS style with almost negligible effort.
My creation details:
Card 1-
How to: Here, the arrangement was the main key to style the card and make it look different than previous class. I have used all the elements from the Garden treasure stamp set (The big flowers with layering stamps, the small flowers without layering, leaves etc.). I wanted to create a bouquet effect mainly and give the card a little heavy look with the arrangement. The color scheme chosen is just to justify the background and so that all elements bind each other together and not overpower any.
Watercolors: Lagoon, Ocean waves and dusk watercolor shades for the background
Ink Colors: Chamomile, Snapdragon, Marogold, Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Firebrick
Others: Brushed gold pigment ink, white heat embossing powder, Black pigment dye ink.
Card 2-
How to: This is one of my most favorite card created for the Altenew Academy until now. It has thast elegance of pink and chicness and also that red/pink flower is adding on to it. The background is cut using Mix and match frames die set with my most used desckled edge die. Then I just kept both the die cut parts on the card and elevated the center later. It's a very simple technique and yet impactful I feel.
Stamp set: Beautiful Day
Ink Colors: Espresso, Mocha, Rocky Shore, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Grapevine
Die: Mix and match frames die set
Pencil colors: Caput Mortuum, Van-Dyck Brown
Others: Black pigment dye ink, Glossy Accents, White gel pen
Lastly, some more images/close-ups for both the creations are here-
Hope this post will be at par or adding more to my last one and reflects my growth and progress with each new work here.
Wrapping up today with wishing you a fun time and a lovely day. See you soon with my next creation.
Regards
Disha
