Altenew Academy - Level 2 - Magical Marker Techniques

 Hello dear readers,

"In coloring, there are no mistakes; just unique creations.

Hey, don't you agree? In coloring, there are really no mistakes! But to reach this stage, you have to keep practicing. Keep going on, even if your coloring doesn't look good, wait untill the end result and you won't believe what you created with those fun coloring mediums. But of course, practice is the biggest factor.

So, let's check-in how I did in the class homework and trust me, I had lot of fun as markers are my favorite and easy coloring mediums I feel or maybe you can say very fast one! Also, I keep trying to learn and showcase something new each time I do coloring with alcohol markers mainly.

My creation details:

Creation 1-

A digital stamp image (on Altenew website) converted to a lovely spring floral creation here. I love tulips and surprisingly, I haven't colored any tulips yet so far and hence I pondered upon the chance! Also, as you know, Tulips come in many colors/variations/lines and what not! They surprise me a lot and all that energy they save in the bulbs whole season!

This time, I chose to use the springy and fresh colors (for me) and hence chose this warm tones/color palette.

Happy and excited how it has turned out with all the background I have done to make the image pop up in shadows. Maybe I will try this image again with a color combo out of my comfort zone (considering now when I have tried this color palette).

This is the final output-

Creation 2 -

Poppies amaze me a lot! They really look like paper flowers to me. If you have ever seen any poppy in real life, you would agree to what I am trying to convey!

This again, is a digital coloring page (I am telling you guys, this is the fastest way to keep that creative flow going by having some digital pages printed ready). I was meaning to use this coloring page from a loooooooong time, but this was the chance I guess that it was waiting for the color to be put down. As you saw in my first example, I was aiming for more fresh and springly color palette, same I was trying for this image as well.

Hence its kind of orange-peach colors, lots of shading and helped me depict the flow this image was trying to showcase. I added more fun in the background by adding kind of opposite color to make the florals pop and also tried bokeh background (if you look closely). This made it more exciting and fun for me to make too.

I was very happy with both the outcomes and this has made me so excited again to pick up those markers and check more of the stamps and digital images lying around in my stash to have more fun.

I hope this excites you and inspires to also try these digital pages and have fun coloring.
