Hey hey dear crafty buddies,
"Great things never come from the comfort zone"
What a simple and effective message here! It relates to my today's post, as I always loved inked blenidng, feels happy to see everyone else's creation with this technique, inspiring too. I had to really get out of my comfort zone for the creations of this class after applying the learnings.
I noticed, before taking this class from Altenew Acdemy, I have hardly used much ink blending techniques for my creations. As an avid lover of coloring (using different mediums), I hardly try to think first in any other direction, although many things have changed in my creative process as I move forward in card making journey. Sometimes, chosing the right color combo makes me feel like I don't want to go this way or use this technique so much. But I must say, it was super fun, quick and easy to learn this class and apply them for the creations as shown below.
As usual, there are 2 different creations here below and they depict how and what I learnt in the class and what I chose to combine and implement.
The techniques/Learnings from this class are as follows (Easy Ink Blending): Basic ink blended background, ombre ink blending, emboss resist on the ink blended background, adding details to the ink blending background, ink belnding on a colored cardstock, faux watercoloring to create ink blended background.
My creation details:
Card 1-
Ink Colors: Sunkissed and citrus burst, Shades of blue from Northern shore and Cool summer nights ink families.
Others: White heat embossing powder.
Card 2-
How to: Wanted to use some colored cardstock as the base and hence this purple shade. Had cut the center from the Nesting labels die set (biggest size). Tone on tone look is achiéved by adding the floral stamp in same shades of purple as the ink blended background. Then I had clear heat embossed the stamped image to give it a raised effect.
Stamp set: Sketchy Floral
Die: Nesting Labels
Ink Colors: Sugarplums (Amethyst)
Others: Versamark ink, heat embossing tool, clear heat embossing powder
Lastly, some more images/close-ups for both the creations are here-
I love ink blending, but I hardly try it so often as amin technique for my creations. This class pushed me to do some fun with the ink blending and allowed me to channalise this tech in so many special ways.
Hope the post will make you smile and inspire and would love for your beautiful comments / suggestions here. Thanks for visiting the blog.
