Altenew Academy - Level 2 - Color Your Day

Hey there my creative freinds,

"Color is the way to brighten your day"

How cool is this fun quote. I do believe it truly - colors bring truly the brightness in our life and heart. It is true in real sense and also in the mind. I am not sure if my words really relate with you here but I do believe it!

This class : Color your day was a fun one and is so open ended yet not! You can use any medium and color your heart away with any die/stamp or your own style of drawing. Just have fun with the colors as much as you can. Try different combinations, some new ones which never used or try different mediums which you never tried and just have colorful fun.

As always, there are 2 creations to show 2 different variations of what I learned and picked from the class.

My creation details:

Creation 1-

Altenew also offers digital images every once in a while on their website and this image is one of them. I really love how the flowers are placed and such a beautiful floral image. The sentiment is also so full of happiness. For me, colors = happiness and hence I chose it.

No major explanations are needed as I just sat with alcohol markers, chose a cool color palette with purples and shades of lilacs with green leaves and just did coloring.

Here you can see how it turned out-

Other details around the card:

Creation 2 -

In the second creation, I tried not to use only floral image, but decided to go with a background stamp and had colorful fun with that. I just love this geometric design, this background space also has lot of open areas to show nice coloring scheme.

Here, watercoloring was my chosen medium, some gold glitters, spotlight coloring and here is the result! Also, I chose the sentiment a bit playful font because overall the design is simple and is like a background stamp, I wanted to make it the highlight with gold mirror cardstock.

Other details around the card:

Stamp : Moroccon mosaic

Die: Nesting frames (deckled cut frame)

Altenew ink colors: crimson, paper bag, sunkissed, fresh lemon

Others: Obsidian black pigment ink, white gel pen, white sequins, gold mirror cardtsock. karin markers - gold pigment ink

These were my learnings and hope I did good job here! These classes are leading me right way to learn more, express more and express in different ways my artistic style. I really enjoy the Academy classes and gives chance to use our stash too.

See you in my next post and good luck if you are in this crafting journey. Keep trying new steps and keep learning. It gives immense joy to your artistic soul.

Thanks.

Regards
