MFT Card Design Superstar - Box Card Master Category 2022

Hello Hello.......one last time on this blog (for today!),

I am here with a super adorable and colorful creation with this post for the MFT contest.

This year the format changed from the innovation master category to the Box card master one. And, my heart broke when I know that I can't participate because I don't own the specific dies yet. But, the mind spoke and the innovation was born. I have used all the dies from the MFT for this creation, didn't break any rules and still got to participate! Yiee for me and for the fun creation.

Let's have a look for the reason of my excitement and I am feeling so proud:

I decided to think how can I use my own stash of MFT dies and still be following the rules. Then, I also had in mind, something masculine or a baby related card would be fun to pull together and would work as a best keepsake gift for someone.
So, I have created this shadow box styled card keeping my friend in mind, who has a baby boy (recently turned 1 month old) and I am very excited to share this with her.

Card description:

The card front and back measures : 6.25 by 5.5 inches, scored at .5 and 1 inch marks on both sides. The middle layer measures 6.25 by 5 inches. This is done using the paper trimmer, like we cut paper normally.

And to create the card windows, I have used the MFT double stitched rectangle frames dienamics. This is what made my work easy and following the rule book too.
Then the pattern papers used here are all from the MFT : Rainbow plaid paper pack, MFT hip hip yay paper pack.
I deliberately chose the blue, yellow and green tones, because I don't know why, but I relate that more to a baby boy card. It makes my work easy to think color combos probably.

The stamp is from the MFT sky high friends stamp set (because it is the cutest and I had to use it somehow to make the baby card) and I think it fits well in the overall composition. I copic colored in rainbow fashion (to bring the cheerfulness in the creation).

The Banner die, alphabet dies are all from the MFT Bitty banner alphabet, Bundle of baby clothes dienamics. The clouds are the MFT rolling stitched clouds dienamics. The yellow stitched scalloped frame on the front panel is from the MFT Blueprints 27 dienamics.

The last background peeking from the last layer is a infinite shaker panel, made from rainbow of the distress ink colors and on top of it, I have used MFT heart stencil to make it more merrier.

I hope I have added all the details and if you wish to know more, please do write to me, I will try to fill in the details.

Here are some more angles of the creation and to share the depth of the box:

This is the back side of the entire creation, where I have added a rainbow plaid frame (to put the photo of the kid and also, there is a pocket behind it, so that, extra details like baby birth date, weight, length etc. can be captured of something memorable).
It's hard to capture these things in photos, but I will try to upload a video sometime soon, if possible.

I am really really happy with how this turned out with the MFT products right from my stash and still following the challenge guidelines.
And yes, I forgot to mention, this card can go on the mantle or desk or anywhere the recipient want to put, it stands strong even with this many layers and elements added.

Thank you MFT for such awesome challenges and bringing the best in us all.

Always appreciate your lovely words and presence on this blog. Have a lovely day.
